After a first round that saw historic upsets, order was restored as the Most Influential American Tourney moved into the Sweet 16. All three remaining #1 seeds advanced and the lowest remaining seeds were three #10 seeds mixed throughout the bracket.
In the Presidential Bracket, first round darling Lyndon Johnson was not able to stop a late push from the pride of Missouri Harry Truman. After knocking off LBJ, Truman smirked and said, "the buck stops here and so does LBJ! On to the Sweet 16." Dwight Eisenhower rolled over Thomas Jefferson like the Sherman Tanks rolled through the rural France in the push to drive the Nazis from France. Franklin Roosevelt emerged victorious over Woodrow Wilson. Wilson's famous 14 points was one more point than he scored in his defeat to FDR. And in the final contest, John Kennedy dodged a bullet and upset George Washington in 10 seed vs. 2 seed matchup. JFK used the strength of his domestic program and his untimely death to spark the emotions of the voters. The sweet 16 match ups feature Truman vs. Eisenhower and Roosevelt vs. Kennedy in a 20th century showdown.
In the Innovators division, Alexander Graham Bell was the one who dropped the bomb this time as he left Robert Oppenheimer in ruins. The #1 seed Bell advances to do battle with America's DaVinci Benjamin Franklin. Franklin knocked off Henry Ford. Ford turned out to be a lemon for the voters as Franklin rolled to victory. The Wright Brothers soared to new heights in their come from behind victory over Steve Jobs (a former MIA champion). In another 10 seed vs 2 seed match up, the ten seed came out on top as Bill Gates defeated Thomas Edison. Edison was less than pleased after the loss as he told the media following the contest, "Gates computer is a nice invention but without me, he could not even plug that thing in." Edison took no questions from the local scribes. Your sweet 16 match ups are Bell vs. Franklin and the Wright Bros vs. Bill Gates.

General U.S. Grant ended the dream of Walt Disney and George Patton used a left/right combination to knock Muhammad Ali out of the round of 32. Patton, following the contest, said "I came, I saw, and I conquered and I am the one who floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee." The sweet 16 match ups are with Lewis & Clark vs. Armstrong and General Grant vs. General Patton.
In the Social Activist bracket, the dream of Martin Luther KIng continues as he snuck by Samuel Gompers. Eleanor Roosevelt scored a victory for the ladies with a victory over Thurgood Marshall. Roosevelt has the support of all the ladies as she is the only woman remaining in the tournament. Jackie Robinson continued his historic run as ol' #42 ran right by Susan B. Anthony. The upset minded Cesar Chavez knocked off Frederick Douglass in another 10 seed vs. 2 seed upset. Chavez used a strong second round to secure the win and when Douglass complained about the results, Chavez said "that's just sour grapes!".
